About AMMAN HOLIDAYS

The Capital of Jordan, Amman is a city of contrasts situated between the desert and the lush Jordan valley. The commercial heart of the city is modern with a selection of restaurants, bars and shops, whilst the old city next to it has traditional coffee shops and tiny artisans’ workshops. At night there is plenty to do with a choice of restaurants and nightclubs. Amman fascinates the visitor and is one of the oldest continuously occupied cities in the world.

When To Go

Jordan has a diverse Middle Eastern Climate with hot summers.  Although travel is possible throughout the year, not all months are the best time to travel. Spring is more ideal to travel as temperatures are not too high reaching into high twenties during the day with cool nights. Winter can sometimes be harsh as desert regions can experience short rainfalls and cold nights and even in Petra sometimes snow.

About DEAD SEA & MA'IN HOLIDAYS

The Jordan Rift Valley is a dramatic beautiful landscape, which at the Dead Sea is over 400m below sea level and is without doubt one of the most amazing places in the world. Once the waters reach the Dead Sea, they are land-locked and have nowhere to go, so they evaporate, leaving behind a dense rich cocktail of salts and minerals. The Dead Sea is fl anked by mountains to the east and the hills of Jerusalem to the west, giving it an almost alien beauty. The area is believed to have been home to fi ve Biblical cities, namely Sodom, Gomorrah, Adman, Zebouin and Zoar.

About PETRA HOLIDAYS

The entrance to the city is through the Siq, a narrow gorge over 1 km in length, which is flanked on either side by soaring 80 metre high cliffs. Just walking through the Siq is an experience in itself. The colours and rock formations are dazzling and as you reach the end of the Siq, you will catch your fi rst breath-taking glimpse of Al Khazneh (The Treasury). Petra is a legacy of the Nabataeans who settled in south Jordan more than 2000 years ago. The kingdom endured for centuries until Roman Emperor Trajan annexed the kingdom and by the 16th century, Petra was completely lost to the West and remained so for almost 300 years. In 1812 a Swiss traveller named Johann Lugwig Burckhart re-discovered it after persuading his guide to take him to the site of the rumoured lost city.

About JERUSALEM HOLIDAYS

Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, located in the Judean Mountains. It is one of the oldest great holy cities in the world and a city to the three major Abrahamic religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam. A great location between the Mediterranean Sea and the Dead Sea. The Old City has been divided into four quarters as the Armenian, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim Quarters. It is home to many sites such as the Dome of the Rock, Temple Mount and the Western or Wailing Wall and some famous Churches and Mosque’s.

When To Go

A popular destination all year round and a great getaway for winter sun. The Mediterranean climate provides dry and hot summers where temperatures can reach high 20s and wet mild winters especially towards the North. Galilee summers are drier with heavy rainfall and the coast omits a light breeze to ease the humidity, Tel Aviv can tend to be more humid then other areas. Further south into the desert, rainfall is low however it appears as intense showers during winter.
