VILLAS

North Island has 11 Villas. The Villas - a sanctuary within a sanctuary.

Each Villa is exquisitely designed and has 450 sqm of living space beautifully handcrafted from local timber, stone, glass, combining traditional styles from The Seychelles and Africa with added features such as thatched ylang-ylang roofs and “punkah punkah" fans.  The villas are completely self-contained situated just yards from a powder soft white sand beach with a contemporary design and a completely authentic feel. Every details has been has been considered in creating these stylish natural villas.

The Bedrooms - the villas have a spacious, luxurious bedroom with a sumptuous King-size hand-carved bed and a study which can convert to a second bedroom (ideal for accommodating children). There is a dressing area leading on to the en-suite bathroom with marble bath, outside shower with pebble strung privacy curtains.

Indoors & Outdoors - all villas have a spacious lounge which is semi-open teak floored with panoramic views out to sea, a private kitchen area where meals can be prepared for in villa dining, and fully retracting sliding windows provide an ideal setting in which to enjoyment the gentle ocean breeze. Other feature includes a private plunge pool and an outdoor dining ‘sala’ with superb views. Each villa has a private buggy and bicycles to explore the beaches on the island, and a personal butler to take care of all your needs.

The Ammenities - include air-conditioning, ceiling fans, sat. TV, internet access, Wi-Fi throughout villa, DVD/CD system, Bose Ipod docking station, outside shower, a mini-bar, tea/coffee facilities, telephone, hairdryer,  and  safe.

Villa 11 - Villa North Island is 750 sqm and enjoys the same facilities as the Villas, but hidden at the far end of the beautiful East beach. It is just for just 2 ideal for honeymoon.

The Swimming Pool - a free-form palm-shaded swimming pool carved into the granitic boulders.  It is located near one of the beaches and a short walk from the public area.

The Beach - North Island has 4 beaches. Surrounded by stunning coral reef and hosting some of the world’s best beaches, North Island is the ultimate paradise island and is regarded by many as the most exceptional beach property in the world.

Diving & Snorkelling -  North Island is surrounded by turquoise tropical seas, wand has very good snorkelling a short boat ride away. Most diving and snorkelling activities are included.

The Spa - the spa is wonderfully natural, and offers some luxurious and creative treatments to enhance your stay. The Spa has adopted a holistic approach; the treatments are as much for your inner self and your mind as they are for your face or body. The spa therapist is trained to provide a consultation aimed at designing a personalised spa experience. They design treatments that relieve stress, are suited to after-exercise, detoxify, cleanse and purify, refresh and rejuvenate.

Something Special - giant tortoises roam free around North Islands’ heart, coco-de-mer palm trees hang from rocky outcrops and the white sandy beaches.

• Yacht charters, deep-sea fishing, golf on Praslin (18-hole course but requires a private helicopter transfer), massage and spa therapy (in the spa or in your villa) and boat trips visits to other islands in the Seychelles. Helicopter hops for days out on other islands are at additional cost.

DINING

Unique Dining Concept - Whatever wherever and whenever.

North Island has a unique 'no menu' concept; instead, the Chef meets with all guests to find out personal preferences and recreates the menus daily. There is a list of suggestion to give inspiration. During the stay, all non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks and cocktails are included (except champagne and some premium wines and spirits such as old whiskies and cognacs which are on the reserve list).

A separate mini-kitchen allows for clients to have their meals prepared by their villa-master in their villa. Alternatively, there is a choice of private dining wherever and whenever suits you from beach barbeques to picnics. A short stroll along to the Piazza, the main dining area which is set against a huge granite rock provides a peaceful setting for a delightful meal from the suggested menu or by design.  North Island menus are defined daily when the chef discusses with the guest their particular requirements.

Every possible need is already anticipated by the subtly attentive staff. The food is mostly grown organically on the island or caught in the surrounding waters and the homemade ice cream is always stocked in your fridge.

What is Included - all meals, soft drinks, cocktails, some wines and spirits (excluding Reserve List).

The North Island welcomes Children, their Facilities Include:

• Rooms - all villas have a separate room which can be used as a bedroom for up to two children.
• Menu - there are no children’s menus however your villa master will be able to arrange most requests.
• Whist there are no set activates for children you villa-master will try to assist with any request and there are a host of activities from nature walks bicycling and snorkelling to keep children occupied.
• In the heart of the Island Giant tortoises roam free, coco-de-Mer palm trees hang from rocky outcrops, and the beaches of white powder beaches wait to be explored.

Conservation
North Island is dedicated to conservation and with the help of resident ecologists are rehabilitating the island and establishing a Noah's Ark of indigenous flora and fauna. The decision to return North Island to its natural state has resulted in a complex, costly and ongoing commitment to eradicate the feral animals and alien vegetation and to reintroduce endangered species endemic to the Seychelles. The resident ecologists will be delighted to show off their research centre as well as the nature walks around the island.

The style and ethos of the island and villas was based around the extensive use of local materials and was created by the South African architectural team of Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens.  There use of natural material such as quirky upside down takamaka trees, roughly hewn stone and rocks, with all the A-list modern facilities have been gently intertwined with the natural setting of the Island.

Personalised Service
All the structures at North Island Lodge have been individually handcrafted to give it a unique atmosphere and the distinctly flavour of the Seychelles. The main areas and all the villas are built directly on the eastern beach: A lounge, dining room and library, beautifully located health spa and gym, world-class dive centre, and a beautiful swimming pool are all built into a granitic outcrop. A sunset bar and restaurant are tucked away on the western beach of the island. So personalized is the service, that the chef can plan your meals with you, to make sure you only eat your favourite food on what is undoubtedly one of  the worlds favourite island.
