The small picturesque island of Desroches, named after the 18th century Governor of Mauritius Chevalier des Roches, is among the Amirantes islands, approximately 240km south-east of Mahé. The island is 5 km long and 1.5 km wide, it is protected by its own coral reef and has 14 km of immaculate beaches, and is surrounded by shallow blue waters ideal for snorkelling and diving. Desroches is a luxurious Island retreat with palm fringed shores and talcum sands if offers a wonderful natural experience, it offers peace and tranquillity for those who want to relaxation and also a unique sense of freedom allowing one to cycle around the resort and explore the island, from its pristine beaches to its lush surroundings.
The island is is approx. 40 minutes transfer by plane from Mahé (flights are run by Air Seychelles from the Domestic terminal); Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Sunday flights. Depart Mahé: 11:00 / Arrive Desroches: 11:40; Depart Desroches: 12:00 / Arrive Mahé: 12:40.
SUITES & VILLAS
The Resort has just 20 exquisitely charming, rustic and yet luxurious, beachfront Suites Villas. The suites are elegantly furnished and comfortable and are tastefully decorated in the woods and pastels in a light and airy colonial style. Luxury features include a flat-screen television, air-conditioning, minibar, an outdoor shower, private terrace and two bikes for exclusive use. Each room has a verandah within the shade of the coconut palms, a day-bed and with wonderful views of the ocean.

Beach Suite - 20 suites each with King-size double bed, integral living area, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, mosquito nets, mini-fridge, IDD telephone, tea and coffee facilities, satellite TV with a selection of sport, news and music in both English and French, room safe, bathroom with bath and garden shower, seperate wc, hairdryer, bathrobes. Maximum occupancy 2 adults 1 child.
Guest Villas:
Luxury Beach Suite Villa (approx. 440 sqm) - 23 villas located on the other side of the island there and are ideal for families each villa has 4 bedrooms, and are complete with private lounge, fully equipped kitchen, pool decking, infinity swimming pool, garden leading onto beach, a butler plus two kayaks and enough bikes for all guests. Maximum occupancy 8 people.
Beach Villa (approx. 12 sqm suite and 24 sqm patio) - 4 villas; the villas are just a luxurious and have all the amenities of the Beach Suite with a plunge pool and are located is an adult only zone. Maximum occupancy of 2 people.
Presidential Villa (approx. 750 sqm) – has been carefully set admits a nature reserve with a 100m of beach frontage. Has four sea facing and one non sea facing bedroom suites each with their own outdoor shower, a spacious living and entertainment area, a modern kitchen where a chef can prepare private in villa dining and a private pool. The villa comes with a host of modern amenities including dvd player and i-pod connection, a personal butler and a golf cart, bicycles and 2 kayaks. Maximum occupancy 10 people.

The Desroches Island Lodge has 2 Restaurants and 1 Bar.
Le Ve Loutier Restaurant – serves breakfast and dinner with a choice of International and Creole cuisine. Once the colonial home now the Restaurant over looks the swimming pool and the sea beyond buffety breakfast and sumptous dinners.
Ghost Crab Grill & Pizzeria - scrumptious lunches under the trees.
L'Amirantes Bar – an ideal drinking spot serving a choice of fresh specialty cocktails, or stop off while enjoying the island for a cold seybrew beer. A choice of wines and soft drinks are also available.
Private Dining options - private dining options can be made available either on the terrace of your villa or a special spot should it be on the beach or most anywhere on the island.

There are a variety of activities and freedom to move around the island by bicycle is often greatly enjoyed by families. However, at dinner in the main island restaurant, the scene is elegant and the ambience relaxed with an air of formality.
