Luxury Turquoise Coast

From Bodrum and Marmaris, along the coast to Dalyan, the ruins show ancient
tombs cut into the rock at Kaunos. These belonged to the Lycian people who had extended their control along the Mediterranean Coast and participated in the battles of Troy, according to Homer’s Illiad. Fethiye is a natural harbour with scuba diving facilities. Similarly Pinara, some 50km away, shows the real splendour of the Lycian rock tombs. These gems of history are strewn all over this coastline. Onwards from there, to Kalkan and Kas, comes a fertile river-delta which was the Roman city of Myra. It was important enough in its day to have its own Bishop, one of them being St. Nicholas, well known as a certain Santa Claus! Rich in history, the Turquoise Coast is breathtaking with its clear waters and miles of beaches. This coast is a heady mixture of culture and beauty.
