About WEST COAST of Mauritius

The scenic West coast is ideally located close to the capital Port Louis and the town of Cure Pipe which is famous for its shopping and botanical gardens, for the travellers who would like a like more lively resort there is Flic and Flac a beach front filled with souvenir shops, bars and restaurants. The western part of the island is known for its still lagoons and calm waters making it ideal for diving and deep sea fishing. It is even said that dolphins breed in these waters especially off Tamarin Baya a surfer’s paradise.
 
Some of the fascinating natural sites are located in the western region of the island such as The Casela Park a huge aviary with thousands of colourful birds and Le Morne Brabant mountain and peninsula, an isolated rocky mountain famed for being a place the runaway slaves went to hide to avoid capture and the Black River Gorges one of the largest public nature parks of Mauritius.

This tour takes us to the Mauritius Glass Gallery, to see traditional methods applied to recycled glass, following by Trou aux Cerfs the dormant volcanic crater, where you can enjoy the panoramic view. After lunch at the La Rhumerie de Chamarel take a photo at the waterfalls at the extraordinary seven colored earths of Chamarel. The last stop will be the Casela Bird Sanctuary.
