About MALDIVES HOLIDAYS

The Maldives are located about four hundred miles south west of Sri Lanka. On average, the coral atoll islands are only six feet above sea level, part of some two thousand coral atolls, of which only a couple of hundred are inhabited. The Maldives is an ideal location for a gentle 'away from it all' type holiday. The swaying palm fronds, hotel front beaches and sparkling waters provide an opportunity to experience a slower beat of life. The large variety of marine life and clear coral waters allow for exciting snorkelling and scuba diving opportunities, and many resorts have Dive Centres offering Beginners courses as well as more challenging Dives for the experienced.

The shallow still warm waters also make it the perfect place for the kids to discover snorkelling and for teenagers to learn how to scuba dive. Most island resorts have professional dive schools, and some boast their own house reefs.  Glass bottomed boats are perfect for families with smaller children to experience the underwater marine life. Choose from other family friendly experiences, such as fishing or whale & dolphin watching.
