Your Itinerary

Day 1 - UK / Dead Sea: Fly from London Heathrow to Amman where you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the Dead Sea for 3 nights.

 
Day 2 - Dead Sea / Amman City Tour / Jerash / Dead Sea: After breakfast leave to visit the ruins of the Amman amphitheatre, the citadel and the Umayyad Palace. Free time for walking/shopping in the old down town area of the city. Visit the Children’s Museum and proceed north to visit the Graeco-Roman city of Jerash; one of the best preserved in the world. Transfer back to the Dead Sea. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 3 - Dead Sea / Madaba / Mount Nebo / Dead Sea: After breakfast leave to visit the Christian town of Madaba, "The City of Mosaics" and take a detour to Mount Nebo, the site of the endearing monastery. Return to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth for a swim in its warm salty waters. Free time at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 4 - Dead Sea / Petra: After breakfast leave the Dead Sea and head south to Petra for a full day visit of the city. Explore the ancient Nabatean Capital, starting with a walk through the Siq, a long narrow fissure between two overhanging cliffs. The tour then proceeds to gradually uncover the mysteries of the rose-red city. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 5 - Petra / Beida / Wadi Rum / Aqaba: After breakfast proceed to Beida, also known as little Petra and the place where the Nabateans used to entertain their guests. Continue south to the enchanting desert of Wadi Rum, Jordan's largest desert and one of the most spectacular desert landscapes in the world. Jeep Tour inside the Wadi. Enjoy the beautiful view while drinking a cup of traditional Bedouin tea, then transfer to the gulf city of Aqaba. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 6 – Aqaba: Breakfast, then free day at leisure in Aqaba. Those interested in Scuba Diving or snorkelling can enjoy the sport at one of the world's most conserved coral reefs. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 7 – Aqaba: Breakfast. Free day at leisure in Aqaba. Overnight at hotel.


Day 8 – Aqaba / Amman: Breakfast. Free day at leisure in Aqaba. Overnight at hotel.


Day 9 – Aqaba / UK: Breakfast followed by morning transfer to Aqaba airport for return flight to London Heathrow via Amman.


Note: For those flying with EasyJet or if connection is not available, depart for Amman for one night stay prior to transferring to Amman airport for return to Heathrow.

The Jordan Rift Valley is a dramatic beautiful landscape, which at the Dead Sea is over 400m below sea level and is without doubt one of the most amazing places in the world. Once the waters reach the Dead Sea, they are land-locked and have nowhere to go, so they evaporate, leaving behind a dense rich cocktail of salts and minerals. The Dead Sea is fl anked by mountains to the east and the hills of Jerusalem to the west, giving it an almost alien beauty. The entrance to the city is through the Siq, a narrow gorge over 1 km in length, which is flanked on either side by soaring 80 metre high cliffs. Just walking through the Siq is an experience in itself. The colours and rock formations are dazzling and as you reach the end of the Siq, you will catch your fi rst breath-taking glimpse of Al Khazneh (The Treasury). Petra is a legacy of the Nabataeans who settled in south Jordan more than 2000 years ago. The kingdom endured for centuries until Roman Emperor Trajan annexed the kingdom and by the 16th century, Petra was completely lost to the West and remained so for almost 300 years. In 1812 a Swiss traveller named Johann Lugwig Burckhart re-discovered it after persuading his guide to take him to the site of the rumoured lost city.
