Set in the centre of 400 year old Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Amangall offers the leisurely experience of a bugone era.
Location:
Amangalle lies within Galle Fort's historic ramparts and offers 29 rooms, chambers, suite and is a collection of buildings dating back over 400 years and a two-storey garden house that provide a perfect base for exploration of the Fort and town of Galle, and the rich traditions od Sri Lanka's South. Transfer time is about 3-4 hours drive south from Colombo airport or by air taxi tranfers to Koggola (approx 40mins) and then transfer by road for 20 mins.
Accommodation:
The Seven bedrooms are located on the ground level of the resort's Middle Street, Wing and three within the hotel's gardens. All rooms are tastfully decorated with timber floorboards abd a four poster king size bed the bathroom has a freestanding bathtub, separate shower and toilet. Teh Chambers are located within Church St Wing and face the Fort ramparts; four more chambers are in the Garden wing. Eight spacious furnished Suites are as bedrooms with six located in Church St Wing and two in the middle Street Wing; they have views of either of the gardens or the Fort and harbour, The large two-storey Garden House features original furniture and has a private terrace and balcony. An internal stairway rises from the sitting room to the upper level.
Facilities:
The Swimming Pool has a terrace and poolside service with light meals and refreshments. There is also a Libary with CD's, games, newspapers, books and internet access. The Baths have hydrotheraphy and water massage pools, sauna and plunge pools, plus a beauty treatment area and meditation pavilion
Facilites can not be guaranteed to be open at all times from time to time facilities may close for various reason such as due to maintenance or low occupancy, without notice.
Dining:
The Dining Room provides a grand setting for dining with colonail furniture and antique china and silverware. The dining room serves all meals and provides a choice between Sri Lankan home cooked dishes and western cuisine. The Zaal (Great Hall) provides light snacks and afternoon tea on its veranda.
